From local support projects to international fundraising initiatives: While charitable commitment is a high priority at DATA MODUL, especially in the region, a donation initiated at Christmas for a project in Cambodia marks the start of cooperation between DATA MODUL AG and the children's charity Plan International. The defined goal: Offer children a future and strengthen equal opportunities.

While education and access to clean water are a matter of course in Germany, people in many places are unable to meet these basic needs. The high-tech company DATA MODUL, which is committed to promoting young talent, is specifically involved in helping children who are in need and dependent on external assistance. As an official partner of the Hamburg-based children's aid organisation "Plan International Deutschland", the world's leading provider of display and system solutions is entering international terrain for the first time with a Christmas donation to support disadvantaged children and families worldwide who lack food as well as water and sanitation.

"Today's young generation is tomorrow's future - but especially in developing countries, girls and boys do not have the same rights and opportunities, nor do they have access to education, income and health. As an internationally active company, we see it as our duty to also look at regions outside Germany. The children's charity Plan International is committed to the rights of children and young people in over 70 countries and follows the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development - a goal with which DATA MODUL identifies and in which we would like to invest even more in the future," says Dr Florian Pesahl, CEO of DATA MODUL AG. "With the project ‘Preventing Malnutrition Phase II’, Plan International supports a total of 23 villages in the Cambodian province of Stung Treng to provide children aged up to six years with early childhood development and a healthy upbringing through training for their parents. Our financial support at Christmas marks the start of our international commitment to support children in need into a healthier and more enlightened future," explains Dr Pesahl.

With the help of this financial support, new preschools can be built, malnourished children treated and water supply systems can be constructed, among other things. "With several production and logistics locations in Europe, Asia and the USA as well as sales locations in relevant growth markets, DATA MODUL employs an international team that strives to promote young people on a global level. With our first project support for Plan International in Cambodia, we also want to give children a future in remote regions in Southeast Asia and advocate for early childhood development. By building preschools, for example, the number of children enrolled in school, and especially girls, can be increased. This is an important step in actively promoting equal opportunities," adds Beate Junker, Head of Human Resources at DATA MODUL AG.

With a Christmas donation of € 5,000.00, DATA MODUL has been supporting the project since December 2022 and is now an official partner of Plan International. The Munich-based company is looking forward to a long-term cooperation with the children's charity and aims to provide regular support for projects in child and youth welfare.
