Our “Women in Tech” series puts the spotlight on the women at DATA MODUL and showcase the many dedicated individuals who are shaping our technology industry with their passion, expertise and innovative spirit. They represent our corporate culture, which promotes diversity, takes on board fresh ideas and opens new perspectives.

In the first articles in our series – featuring Beate Junker, Lisa Molina and Hwajung Ok, for example – we have already shown how much female expertise there is at DATA MODUL.

And we look forward to introducing more inspiring colleagues in the future!

In 2026, the electronic display Conference will once again be an integral part of embedded world, bringing together industry professionals and experts from March 11 to 12 to discuss current topics in display technoloy. 

The conference focuses on practice-oriented presentations covering technological developments, component-specific challenges and supply chain aspects. DATA MODUL will once again be represented and will share exciting, practice-oriented perspectives in a keynote.

On March 12 from 10:00 to 10:20 a.m., DATA MODUL Product Manager Displays, Tauseef Mahmud will speak in his keynote "Eco-friendly displays: Status, trends and the road ahead," about global challenges in the electronics industry, regulatory and technological developments, as well as initial approaches to more resource-efficient displays.

At embedded world 2026, we will present our new 15.6" PCAP touch display with integrated RFID/NFC for the first time at the DATA MODUL booth (hall 1 | booth 368). This solution combines precise PCAP touch operation and RFID/NFC technology directly within the active display area. Touch and RFID interaction run in parallel and seamlessly – even behind thick cover glass. A wide range of LF and HF RFID standards, including NFC, is supported. The result is slim, fully enclosed designs without external reader hardware – ideal for access control, ticketing, smart payment, or industrial applications. Our solution is scalable from 6.2" to 21.5" and can be flexibly integrated into a wide variety of HMI concepts.

Successful use case – live on stage with ELATEC 

Together with our partner ELATEC, we will demonstrate how this integration works in practice live at the Exhibitor Forum during embedded world in Nuremberg. We already introduced the concept at the ELATEC Oktoberfest Partner Conference 2025 in Munich as part of a speaker session. Our colleague Dr. Diana Nanu, Head of Products & Markets – Mobility, showed how display, touch, and NFC technology merge into a seamless overall solution.

We are now excited to bring theory and practice together and give visitors the opportunity to experience our jointly developed NFC display solution live.

This year, the renowned German publishing house WEKA once again presents the prestigious ‘Product of the Year’ award, recognizing the most innovative solutions in the electronics industry. We are delighted that our eMotion UHD-III-G LCD controller boards have been nominated in the ‘Embedded Systems‘ category. Across a total of eight categories, leading-edge products and developments are put to the vote, with readers selecting one winning product per category. 

The eMotion UHD-III-G family of LCD controller boards has been specifically designed for demanding 4K UHD applications and delivers high performance in a compact form factor. Based on the latest MediaTek MT9800 series scaler SoCs, the boards support standardized and widely used display interfaces such as LVDS, eDP, and V-by-One, as well as modern graphics inputs including HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4. A key highlight of the eMotion UHD-III-G Plus variant is its lossless 180°-full-screen rotation at 60 Hz in native 4K resolution. Complemented by HDR10 support, flexible control options, and long-term availability, the boards are ideally suited for industrial applications such as digital signage and gaming.

Following the acquisition of JUMPtec GmbH (formerly a Kontron subsidiary) by congatec, DATA MODUL now gains access to the fully combined product portfolios of both manufacturers. For our customers, this means a significantly expanded offering, greater flexibility, and an even broader selection of established embedded standards – including COM Express, COM-HPC, SMARC, and Qseven.

A particular focus is placed on the expansion of the COM Express Type 10 portfolio:
•    A substantially increased number of variants for a wide range of application scenarios
•    Scalability across multiple processor generations, including low-power x86 platforms for energy-efficient applications

The SMARC portfolio also benefits significantly from the integration of JUMPtec products:
•    A broader selection of ARM- and x86-based modules
•    Longer availability and a broader range of variants, making the platform particularly attractive to new customers

The expanded COM Express Type 10 and SMARC module portfolio enables DATA MODUL to:
•    Offer even more precisely matched module and carrier board combinations
•    Accelerate project implementation thanks to a wider range of immediately available platforms
•    Enable long-term scalability without forcing customers to change platforms

In a market phase characterized by a decreasing number of available embedded partners, this portfolio expansion gains additional strategic relevance. Many companies no longer have direct access to JUMPtec products and are therefore seeking a new, reliable partner.

We warmly congratulate our colleague Leonie Haun on being honored at the IHK “Best of the Year” Awards 2025!

On July 15, 2025, Leonie successfully completed her apprenticeship as a Warehouse Logistics Specialist at our DATA MODUL Technology Flagship site in Weikersheim – achieving an outstanding final grade of over 92 points. This exceptional performance places her among the top-performing apprentices in the Heilbronn-Franken region. After completing her apprenticeship, Leonie joined our Warehouse team, where she continues to contribute her motivation, commitment, and expertise every day.

Each year, the IHK Heilbronn-Franken honors graduates who achieve top marks in their final exams, regardless of their field of training. This recognition not only highlights Leonie’s excellent performance but also reflects the high value DATA MODUL places on education and the development of young talent.

As part of our sustainability strategy, we consider training and employee development to be key elements of our social responsibility. Supporting young professionals, fostering their skills, and ensuring long-term employee retention are essential aspects of our commitment to responsibility, fairness, and future-oriented growth.

At DATA MODUL, social responsibility is an integral part of our corporate culture and sustainability strategy. One of the most meaningful ways we put this commitment into practice is by investing in vocational training and supporting young talents at the beginning of their careers.

This September, seven new apprentices started their journey with us at our locations in Munich and Weikersheim. Over the next years, they will gain valuable hands-on experience, develop new skills, and actively contribute to our future success.

Our apprenticeship programs allow young people to combine theory with practical experience from day one, helping them grow into responsible and skilled professionals. As one of our new apprentices shares: “What I enjoy most is being trusted with real responsibilities early on and becoming part of real processes.” Another adds: “At first, every machine felt like a mystery to me, but now I am starting to understand how everything works – and that is incredibly rewarding.”

We are also proud that eight of our former apprentices have decided to continue their careers with us after completing their training, which is a great confirmation of the value and opportunities our programs offer.

We look forward to the new perspectives, energy, and ideas they bring to our teams. By training young talents today, we are actively shaping the workforce of tomorrow.
