Austauschprogramm ProTandem bei DATA MODUL in Weikersheim

Hands-on experience across borders: French trainees at DATA MODUL in Weikersheim

Gaining international experience, discovering new ways of working, and experiencing international teamwork first-hand – that is exactly what two French apprentices experienced during their exchange placement at DATA MODUL’s site in Weikersheim as part of the ProTandem exchange programme. As part of the cooperation between Gewerbliche Schule Bad Mergentheim and its French partner school, the students gained valuable insights into everyday industrial work and various company departments.

From production to customer service: hands-on experience on site

During their stay, the two exchange students worked in several departments, including production, bonding, mechanics and customer service. They supported our teams in a variety of tasks – from assembling electronic components and cleaning displays to testing and repairing technical systems.

“The apprentices were particularly impressed by the variety of tasks and the practical insights into modern industrial processes,” says André Oechsner, training instructor at the Weikersheim site.

Connecting apprentices across borders

For many years, the ProTandem exchange programme has been a successful example of international cooperation in vocational education and training. It brings together schools, companies, and apprentices from both countries and promotes long-term collaboration. The programme includes a three-week stay in Germany: Following one week of language and cultural activities at school, the participants spend two weeks working in regional companies. In return, German trainees also have the opportunity to visit France and gain international experience.

“The exchange with young people from other countries is highly enriching for everyone involved. Our teams gain new perspectives and insights, while the apprentices acquire valuable practical experience beyond the classroom,” explains André Oechsner.

We would like to thank all colleagues in Weikersheim who supported and accompanied the French guests throughout their stay. Programmes like these highlight what drives our corporate culture: openness, team spirit and international collaboration. Vocational education truly goes beyond national borders.

Unser Spektrum 2.0: Die visuelle Sprache von DATA MODUL

Our Spectrum 2.0: The visual language of DATA MODUL

Our new DATA MODUL Spectrum is more than a visual evolution – in its new aesthetic, it expresses more clearly what defines us at our core. It is more than a design element and, as our key visual, symbolises our fascination with displays and the technologies that inspire us every day.

Light that connects.

Displays fascinate us. The light emitted by screens connects people with devices and digital technologies – making information visible, understandable and tangible.

This very interaction is reflected in our Spectrum 2.0: the dialogue between human and machine. It represents how we see ourselves – as passionate enablers of solutions that make technology intuitive to experience and support people in their everyday lives.

Diversity that brings things together.

At the same time, our Spectrum stands for the complexity and diversity of DATA MODUL.

Just like the many colours, layers and transitions within our key visual, we combine a wide range of expertise across the entire display value chain for our customers – from display technologies and integration to software and professional services. Supporting customer projects throughout the entire product lifecycle – from consulting and concept development through to operation, support and continuous improvement.

This is how individual components become holistic solutions. And how diversity creates connections between people and display systems.

Technology that inspires.

The design of our Spectrum reflects this in every detail:

  • RGB colours symbolise digital light – the foundation of every image displayed on modern screens.
  • Smooth colour transitions express our reliability throughout every phase of a project.
  • Transparent layers reflect our bonding technologies – the foundation that brings individual components together into a powerful, cohesive unit.
  • Clean edges and precise light refraction reflect our technical precision and the high standards behind every solution we deliver.

This is how our Spectrum 2.0 becomes a visual metaphor for our vision: to simplify life in a connected world.

Über 50 Jahre Display-Exzellenz: DATA MODUL im Firmenportrait der ELEKTRONIKPRAXIS

DATA MODUL company portrait: Over 50 years of display excellence

With more than five decades of company history, technological development and the transformation from a distributor into a global engineering and system partner, we reflect on the evolution of DATA MODUL in the current anniversary edition of ELEKTRONIKPRAXIS – and on what continues to define and drive us today.

At the heart of the company portrait are our technological development, key milestones and the competencies that shape who we are today: from engineering and customising to bonding and our end-to-end EMS approach. At the same time, we show how we combine our international presence with strong European engineering and manufacturing expertise and support customers worldwide – from the initial idea through to series production.

Today, displays are far more than simple display elements – they connect people with technology, make information visible and enable intuitive interaction with complex systems. For more than 50 years, we have been working together with our customers to continuously develop these interfaces and translate them into tailored solutions for a wide range of applications. The company portrait highlights what has shaped our approach for over five decades: the ambition to turn complex requirements into functional solutions and bring innovations into practice together with our customers.

You can find the full company portrait here:

Sustainability Report 2025: Progress on resource use and supply chain dialogue

Sustainability Report 2025: Progress on resource use and supply chain dialogue

With the second publication of our sustainability report (non-financial disclosures) for 2025, we provide comprehensive insights into the further development of our activities within environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance. The report is the result of close cross-functional collaboration and demonstrates how we are increasingly integrating prioritized fields of action into our daily operations.

“Our ambition is to consistently align economic objectives with a responsible use of resources, thereby strengthening DATA MODUL’s performance, resilience, and long-term competitiveness,” emphasizes CEO Dr. Florian Pesahl.

In 2025, our focus was on improving material efficiency while reducing costs and waste. Therefore, we focused on the following initiatives:

  • Development of circular project approaches aimed at enhancing reusability and improving the recyclability of components and packaging
  • Further development of internal structures and relevant KPIs to provide a transparent basis for process management and optimization
  • Intensification of dialogue and collaboration with our customers and suppliers across the entire value chain

In an environment shaped by geopolitical tensions and regulatory uncertainty, collaborative partnerships are becoming increasingly important, also to ensure the implementation of stakeholder requirements.

Nachhaltig gedacht, überzeugend umgesetzt: Better Stands Gold-Zertifikat für Messestand auf der embedded world 2026

Sustainable exhibition concept: Better Stands Gold certification for the embedded world 2026 Booth

Exhibitions are key platforms for innovation, exchange, and business development. At the same time, they often involve significant resource consumption and generate considerable amounts of waste. A major contributing factor is the exhibition booths themselves – for example through temporary constructions, carpets, packaging, and single-use materials.

This is exactly where the Better Stands program comes in. Its goal is to eliminate single-use exhibition booths and transition the industry to reusable structures by 2030. As part of this initiative, booths are recognized for particularly strong concepts focused on reusability and resource efficiency. Resource and energy efficiency are also key pillars of DATA MODUL’s sustainability approach. We are therefore proud that our booth received Gold status within the Better Stands program.

Together with our booth design partner Heilmaier GmbH Messedesign, we developed a concept based on a modular system such as Aluvision combined with a flexible construction framework. This approach allows a large share of the booth elements to be reused multiple times. The structure is built around aluminum frames that can be assembled in different configurations, making it easy to adapt the booth to various sizes and layouts. Graphics and displays can be integrated quickly, replaced when needed, and reused for future events. As a result, the modular booth concept can be efficiently deployed at both national and international exhibitions.

This approach brings environmental and economic benefits at the same time: a more resource-conscious booth design reduces waste, lowers planning and coordination efforts, and helps minimize costs. These results encourage us to continue pursuing this approach consistently in our future exhibition appearances.

We would like to thank all colleagues and project partners whose dedication and teamwork contributed to the success of this exhibition concept.
